The Year 7, 8 and 9 classes will be holding their camp this year on Wednesday 30th May until Friday 1st June 2018. The venue has been set for the Big 4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort in Cannonvale, where students will be able to engage in organised team building activities. The cost per student is $300 and a full payment will be required by 22nd May 2018. Students will need to have their completed SRS paperwork returned to the office with their schools fees paid up to date or a payment plan in place.
Students will begin the camp with a half day hiking trip along the Whitsunday Trail to Honeyeater Lookout. The camp includes high risk activities as we will be participating in a snorkelling tour with Ocean Rafting and using the new water slides at the Adventure Park. A separate permission form needs to be completed for students to participate in these two events.
Students will be staying in cabins and assisting with preparation of
meals. Students will be encouraged to be
independent and responsible for their own actions. Students can wear free dress over the two-day
camp, however students must wear appropriate sleeved shirts and a compulsory
wide brimmed hat during the camp.
Appropriate swimmers/sun shirt, towel and old clothes are to be
taken. Enclosed footwear is
essential. A list of items has been sent
home to assist students to pack, please note that students will need a backpack
for the hike.
We will be departing Calen at approximately 9:00am and all students
must be at school by 8:45am to join the camp.
We will arrive back at school at approximately 2:45pm on Friday, so that
students can still catch the bus if necessary.
Students will be expected to be on their best behaviour and no
misbehaviour will be accepted or tolerated.
If misbehaviour does occur, students will be sent home at parent’s
