Our school praises positive behaviour using a dot chart system. Each student that received at least 50 dots over the school term was rewarded with a day at Cape Hillsborough. We attended our rewards day last Friday the 10th August. We caught a bus to Cape Hillsborough where we got to participate in lots of fun activities. When we arrived we went for a walk along the boardwalk. Along the way we stopped at a rock that had shells all around it. All the children thought this was amazing. This track was a circle like track that took us back to the start. When we got back to where we started we had some morning tea.
After morning tea we all hopped back on the bus and went around to the beach. When we arrived at the beach we had free play on the beach while our teachers cooked us a sausage sizzle. During free play the children did lots of different things like burying each other in the sand, some children played soccer and football on the beach. There was a few children that worked together to dig a huge hole in the sand, but this didn't work so well as there was a big rock in the middle of the circle where they were digging their hole. All this play made everybody hungry so we went back to the eating area and ate our sausage sizzle.
After lunch we got to play on the playground at Cape Hillsborough. The prep students and younger primary children had a blast playing on the playground while the older primary children were happy playing ball games. It was now time to get back on the bus and return to school. During the bus ride back to school, the older primary children sang songs really loud all the way back to school. This was fun and exciting and everyone was having a great time.
Overall we had a fantastic day and enjoyed our trip to Cape Hillsborough.
