Year 10 students visit CQUniversity

On Wednesday the 3rd May 2017 Mrs Gardner, Mrs Donovan and Mrs Fahey keenly took the year 10 class into Mackay to attend at the Central Queensland University.  At the University we were able to see and experience some of the things that the University has to offer.

The day started with Rhiannon, the School Outreach Officer for CQU, taking Mrs Gardner, myself and Emmalese to a classroom where we were able to sit in on an online class session with university students from across the state.

Meanwhile the boys went for a tour around the University with Tiana, the Vocational Courses Coordinator.  After a break the boys went and investigated the trade centre, while the girls went and watched journalism students present their research articles about famous and inspirational journalists. This was followed by discussions about the SUN program, which is a program for students who are still enrolled at secondary school to begin their future studies at university.  Emmalese and I finished the day by interacting in a Chiropractic class, where we learned first-hand about the bones in the feet.

On behalf of the year 10 students, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Gardner, Mrs Donovan, Mrs Fahey and the Central Queensland University staff for allowing us to experience a day in the life of a university student.
