Fire education visit

On Friday, 31st July, Fire Officers from Mackay visited our school to talk to the Prep and Year 1 students about the dangers of fire.  The Fire Education School Community Safety Program promotes the building of collaborative partnerships between the firefighters and schools.  The main focus is for students to make personal connections with firefighters, to see emergency safety equipment and most importantly, to teach and reinforce key safety rules.  The students were intrigued by the mascot ‘Blazer’ and had the opportunity to spray water out of the fire hose.  We would like to sincerely thank the Fire Officers who gave up their valuable time to present this important program to our little people.
